MA Level 3 in Accounting
Entry requirements
Relevant work experience and/or relevant qualifications. Exemptions may be granted from part/all of Level 6 depending on accountancy qualifications held.
Course content
The course comprises the following units:
  • Accounts preparation
  • Preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts
  • Costing and revenues
  • Indirect tax
  • Professional ethics
  • Spreadsheet software

Qualifications achieved
Each apprentice is required to achieve the following qualification: AAT SCQF Level 6 Diploma in Accounting – R323 04
Core skills
Each apprentice is required to achieve the following core skills:
  • Communication SCQF Level 5
  • Working with Others SCQF Level 5
  • Problem Solving SCQF Level 5
  • Information Technology SCQF Level 5
  • Numeracy SCQF Level 5
Duration
The programme should take 1 year to complete. Candidates will be work-based and are reviewed by an assessor every 10-13 weeks throughout the duration of the programme.
Future prospects
