November 2021

It has been another incredibly busy couple of months here at Dundee and Angus College with lots of exciting things happening.

We kicked off our curriculum review by hosting a conference to help us better understand what our economy needs of us. A huge thank you to our partners at Dundee and Angus Council, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service and Skills Development Scotland for clearly articulating the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for our region as we look to reduce unemployment numbers and close skills gaps. Another big thank you to industry leaders Manny Barber of Sleeperz Hotels, Brian Robertson of Bitwise Group and Colin Arnold of Michelin Scotland Innovation Park who joined us to help us better understand what industry needs of us.

This month also saw our hospitality department support two major events – The HIT Scotland Discovery Dinner held at the The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews and the Courier Business Awards held at the Apex Hotel in Dundee. Our talented team of staff and students worked behind the scenes at both events to produce the most exquisite desserts as well as provide table service on both evenings. We are super proud of them and incredibly grateful to our friends at both venues for letting us play a part.
