Teaching Staff Industrial Action

The Teaching staff union within the College, EIS have announced that its members will be taking part in one day of national strike action on Thursday 27 April 2017 and one day on Wednesday 3 May 2017.

Having considered the potential impact of this action, the College Executive has taken the decision that all classes will be cancelled on Thursday 27 April and Wednesday 3 May 2017, although College campuses will remain open for independent student study or other individual arrangements that staff may make with their students.

SQA and other national exams will go ahead as planned on strike days, any College run exams may be subject to disruption.

Classes and services will return to normal on Friday 28 April and Thursday 4 May 2017.

The EIS have also identified ten other dates that they intend to take strike action through to the start of June 2017. Decisions in respect of these dates will be made and communicated to students on a week by week basis.
