As part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2018 D&A College are offering young people the chance to come along and Discover Apprenticeships at their Kingsway Campus from 1-7pm on Wednesday 7 March.
Modern Apprenticeships generally take between one and four years to complete and combine paid employment with work-based training and lead to industry-recognised vocational qualifications.
D&A College currently offers Modern Apprenticeship training in:
- Business and Administration
- Creative and Digital Media
- IT and Communications
- Life Sciences
- Professional Cookery
- Social Services (Children and Young People)
- Social Services and Healthcare
- Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
As well as chatting to staff and current apprentices about their experiences, there will be a range of hands-on activities taking place to see what’s really involved in an apprenticeship including learning how to build and strip a PC; using electrophoresis and microscopy in our pop-up science lab; and testing your engineering skills by playing giant Jenga.
The Hospitality and Professional Cookery teams will be offering tasty treats and mocktails and there will be the chance to sit in our Hammerhead off-road buggy whilst discovering more about Vehicle Maintenance.
Activities will be taking place between 1-7pm, and visitors are invited to drop-in at any time.
